EVENT DETAILS
|
We are pleased to announce that applications for the 2023 Ministry Volunteer Program (MVP) workshop will be accepted from March 31, 2023 to May 31, 2023. This year’s MVP will be held from July 15 to 21, 2023, at Cerritos Church in California (participants are expected to arrive no later than the evening of Saturday, July 15).
The MVP will again focus solely on completing ministry projects. We encourage youths seeking a spiritual cultivation-based seminar to attend SSC, J2 SSC, or NYTS.
We welcome working professionals and students who have the heart to serve to participate in this program. The program is open to all youths who have graduated from high school by July 2023 and older. Underage youths will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Full-time attendance is required. Any interested youths should apply by May 31, 2023.
The projects of this MVP are (please see the events.tjc.org website for project details and latest updates):
-
eLibrary Media - Team members will be responsible for indexing Bible verses from sermon recordings, generating sermon transcription/captions, and/or converting video recordings into audio files. These project deliverables would be used to integrate with the eRhema Bible App and to make eLibrary resources more accessible to the hearing-impaired or users with limited video access.
-
Graphic/User Experience Design - Ministry volunteers will be exposed to the TJC style guide, user interface/experience design research, and common design software (Canva/Photoshop/Illustrator or similar) used in media ministry. Volunteers will assist in ongoing design projects such as apps, flyers/posters, stock videos/photos, and calendars.
-
Social Media Posts - As social media play an increasingly integral role in today's life, ministry volunteers are needed to help create daily Facebook and Instagram posts to share God's word, help us remember God's word, and encourage each other. Volunteers will learn how to and help create English or bilingual (English-Chinese, English-Spanish) posts/reels with materials from the eLibrary.
-
Fellowship Games - We will be continuing the MVP 2018/2022 project, "Save the Church", as well as starting a new board game. Since this project encompasses all parts of creating a board game, all skills and talents can be utilized to serve in this project, even if you were not in this group in 2018 or 2022.
-
Taiwan GA E2 Bible Study Guide Translation - Volunteers would translate Bible Study guides designed for E2-aged students from Chinese to English. Volunteers must currently be in training for or have prior experience in Chinese to English interpretation at their local church.
Please continue to monitor the registration website for the latest project and logistical updates.
If you have any questions regarding this workshop, please contact the MVP coordinators at mvp@tjc.org.
Please keep this event in your prayers.
