|
This 3.5-hour workshop is designed for music ministry workers across the US, especially choir conductors/pianists, hymnal service leaders/pianists, and songwriters/lyricists/composers. Church council members overseeing church choirs and hymnal worship services are also encouraged to attend.
During the workshop, we will:
- study and discuss important concepts related to music ministry from the praises in the book of Revelation,
- go over guidelines on how to select/review/compose suitable music pieces for choirs and hymnal worship services,
- go over the US church choir guidelines under consideration,
- go over the essential understanding of the copyright laws (pertaining to the use, display, presentation, recordings, and derivatives of both the copyrighted and non-copyrighted hymns from our hymnal as well as other Christian music), and
- go over the music ministry resources available through the IA/USGA.
All relevant and interested music ministry workers are encouraged to attend and help pray together for this sacred music workshop. For any questions, please contact the Music Ministry Committee at music.ministry@tjc.org.
