2024 Ministry Volunteer Program (MVP) Workshop
FROM Saturday, July 13, 2024 5:00 PM TO Friday, July 19, 2024 2:00 PM

We are pleased to announce that applications for the 2024 Ministry Volunteer Program (MVP) workshop will be accepted from April 19, 2024 to May 31, 2024. This year’s MVP will be held from July 13 to 19, 2024, at Cerritos Church in California (participants are expected to arrive no later than the evening of Saturday, July 13).

The MVP will again focus solely on completing ministry projects. We encourage youths seeking a spiritual cultivation-based seminar to attend SSC or NYTS.

We welcome working professionals and students who have the heart to serve to participate in this program. The program is open to all youths who have graduated from high school by July 2024 and older. Underage youths will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Full-time attendance is required. Any interested youths should apply by May 31, 2024.

The projects of this MVP are:

  • Content Curation - As media play an increasingly integral role in today's life, ministry volunteers are needed to help curate content for our various digital platforms to share and encourage one another with God's word. Volunteers will learn how to create Facebook/Instagram posts and reels with materials from the eLibrary, generate descriptions and hashtags for our YouTube videos, and/or develop podcast episodes.

  • Graphic/User Experience Design - Ministry volunteers will be exposed to the TJC identity guidelines, UI/UX design, and common design software (Canva/Photoshop/Illustrator or similar) used in media ministry. Volunteers will assist in ongoing design projects such as apps, flyers/posters, stock videos/photos, and calendars.

  • Fellowship Games - We will be wrapping up the MVP 2018/2022/2023 project, "Save the Church", as well as starting a new board game. Since this project encompasses all parts of creating a board game, all skills and talents can be utilized to serve in this project, even if you were not in this group in any of the prior years.

Please continue to monitor the registration website for the latest project and logistical updates. If you have any questions regarding this workshop, please contact the MVP coordinators at mvp@tjc.org. Please keep this event in your prayers.

Logistical Reminders:

    • Participants will be notified of their acceptance by June 9, 2024.

    • Full-time attendance is required.

    • This year's MVP will be held at Cerritos Church and will begin on July 13, with registration beginning at 5:00 p.m. (PDT) and the opening ceremony at 7:00 p.m. (PDT).

    • Please book airline travel to/from Long Beach Airport (LGB) or John Wayne Airport (SNA). If possible, please fly in groups with other participants from the same local church. Flights arriving or departing from other airports may require you to arrange your own transportation.

    • Remote attendance may be acceptable at the discretion of the team lead. If you are only able to attend remotely, please indicate that in your registration.

We look forward to seeing you at this MVP!
