EVENT DETAILS

We are pleased to announce that applications for the 2022 Ministry Volunteer Program (MVP) workshop are now being accepted. We welcome working professionals and students who have the heart to serve to participate in this program. The program is open to all youths who have graduated high school by July 2022 and older. Underage youths will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We encourage those seeking a spiritual cultivation-based seminar to attend J2 SSC or NYTS. Interested youths should apply here by May 31, 2022.
Please do your best to register on time. If you are tentatively unsure about your attendance to this MVP, we have provided an option for you to indicate that.
*Certain projects will be open for youth to attend virtually. (Please see descriptions below)
Purpose: This year’s program focus will again be solely on completing ministry projects.
The projects of this MVP are:
- *eLibrary Media: Team members will be responsible for indexing Bible verses from sermon recordings, generating sermon transcription/captions, and/or converting video recordings into audio files. These project deliverables would be used to integrate with the eRhema Bible App and to make eLibrary resources more accessible to the hearing-impaired or users with limited video access. Attendees will be able to join this project virtually or in-person.
- Fellowship Games: Now that MVP is back in-person, we will be resuming the MVP 2018 project, "Save the Churches." This is a board game that can only be played in-person as it is a physical board game. Since this project encompasses all parts of creating a board game, all skills and talents can be utilized to serve in this project, even if you were not in this group in 2018.
- *Graphic Design: Ministry volunteers will be exposed to the TJC style guide and common graphic design software (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign or similar) used in media ministry. Volunteers will assist in ongoing design projects including and not limited to pocket calendars, stock photos, posters, and flyers. Attendees will be able to join this project virtually or in-person.
- Hymnal Choral Recording: There are two groups of in-person ministry workers needed to help record the choral arrangement of the hymns in our hymnbook. The recordings will be shared on the GA website for members to listen to so that they may be edified and strengthened in faith daily as we prepare to receive the bridegroom--Jesus Christ (Rev 21:2). The hymnal recordings can also be used for evangelical purposes such as for truth seekers who visit the tjc.org website.
Choir members will record as an in-person choir. Those who have the heart to serve the Lord in hymnal recording, and are able to learn their part (SATB) relatively quickly or are willing to learn their part prior to MVP are welcome to join.
Recording engineers will help with the recording and editing work. As this is a specialized holy work area that needs more and more workers, those who have at least some experience (e.g. with Digital Audio Workstation or similar) are encouraged to join, and further training will be provided as needed.
- *Social Media Posts: As social media play an increasingly integral role in today's life, ministry volunteers are needed to help create daily Facebook and Instagram posts to share God's word, help us remember God's word, and encourage each other. Volunteers will learn how to create English or bilingual (English-Chinese, English-Spanish) posts/reels with materials from eLibrary. Attendees will be able to join this project virtually or in-person.
- Taiwan GA E2 Bible Study Guide Translation: Volunteers would translate Bible Study guides designed for E2-aged students from Chinese to English.
Logistical Reminders:
- Participants will be notified by June 14, 2022, of their acceptance.
- Full-time attendance is highly recommended.
- This year's MVP will be held at Baldwin Park Church, and will begin on July 16 with the Opening Ceremony at 5:30PM PDT.
- Those flying in for the event are requested to fly into Ontario Airport (ONT). If possible, please fly in groups with other participants from the same local church. Participants who fly to/from LAX will need to arrange their own transportation.
- For the safety of all attendees and workers, participants will be required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival for the event.
If you have any questions regarding this workshop, please contact the MVP coordinators at mvp@tjc.org.
We look forward to seeing you at this year's MVP!
